The North Haven Historical Society is pleased to announce that is has received the extraordinary gift of a late 18th or early 19th century quilt from the Denham Family. This wonderful folk art quilt has descended through the Dyer family, Mayflower descendants, who originated in Plymouth, MA, moving to the Fox Islands in the late 18th century.
Now through the generosity of the four Denham brothers, the quilt is "coming home" to North Haven. The quilt will be known as the Lucy Dyer Denham quilt in honor of the mother of the four Denham brothers. The formal transfer of the quilt from the Denhams to the NHHS will be on:
JUNE 6th 2012 at Noon at the North Haven Historical Society
We will have a light luncheon and celebrate the arrival of the quilt home.
Hope you can make it!
NEW and EXCITING: We are now selling our books and calendar through this website!
(Check out the NHHS Store Tab at the top of this page)
Buy online and we will ship to you!
ALSO, we are now able to accept Donations online! Please visit the "Contact Us/Donate" Tab at the top of this page!
Next Summer's Exhibit: Bartlett's Harbor Artist Colony with works from
Frank Benson, Bela Pratt, Beatrice Van Ness and Fred Allen.
