Founded in 1975, the North Haven Historical Society is an educational non-profit organization on North Haven Island in Maine's Penobscot Bay. Our facilities include an archive center, research library, and museum with exhibits dedicated to the island's history.
We are open year round and do not charge admission. We welcome visitors, researchers, and curious minds, young and old, from near and far. |
OUR MISSION & VISION
The North Haven Historical Society works to discover, collect, preserve, and share the rich, layered history of North Haven and its surrounding areas. Our vision is that the memories and artifacts of the people who live and have lived on North Haven are known to all residents and visitors and serve to strengthen the bonds of community on our island. |
