THE FOUR BOYS (1ST Edit)
A feature length film created by Jacqueline Curtis and edited by Tim Travaskis. The Four Boys is a documentary-style film told through letters, archival film, and photographs of four young island men - Hugh Parsons, Charles Baird, Arthur Calderwood, and Harold Morrison -as well as their families and the island community during the onset and aftermath of World War 2. This documentary was carefully curated and filmed over the course of 2020-2022 and involved not only interviews with family members and island residents, but also included the careful review of the letters these young soldiers shared with their families. The interviews and the letters provided an amazing wealth of information and gave light to the human impact of war and the story of these four young man. With great enthusiasm from the showings during the summer of 2022, Jacqueline and her team are working on film edits, new interviews, script changes as a result of new research and historical information gleaned after the first showings. The historical Society hopes to share the Four Boys final edit during the summer of 2024, please stay tuned.
